Who We Are

We’re a team of nine recipe-obsessed creators who believe that good food shouldn’t require fancy tools, complicated techniques, or expensive ingredients. What began as Lucas’s tiny side project in early 2023 has grown into a trusted cooking hub welcoming more than 400,000 monthly home cooks looking for easy, reliable recipes.

We’re not Michelin-trained chefs. We’re recipe developers, testers, writers, photographers, and everyday cooks who test each recipe multiple times in regular home kitchens. No studio tricks, no impossible ingredients—just real food made with what you already have.

We answer comments ourselves, fix recipes when they flop, and genuinely care about helping you put a satisfying meal on the table—whether it’s a rushed weeknight or a relaxed Sunday afternoon.


Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to show you how everyday ingredients can turn into delicious, approachable meals that fit your real life—not the idealized version we see on TV.

Ricipes started on a stormy Thursday evening when my teenage son came home exhausted after basketball practice. He dropped his backpack, kicked off his shoes, and said, “Dad, I need something warm… anything.”

I threw together a quick pasta dish with garlic, tomatoes, and leftover chicken. As soon as he sat down with that steaming bowl, something softened in him—he relaxed, he smiled, and he finally breathed. That moment reminded me that food doesn’t need to be complicated to be comforting.

The next morning, Ricipes was born.

Every day since, we’ve been testing recipes in real homes for real people. If a dish doesn’t pass our “Weeknight Reality Test”—minimal prep, simple steps, 25 to 35 minutes max—we go back to the drawing board. Because you’re trusting us with your dinner, and that matters.


Our Purpose

I still remember the night this all clicked for me—late evening, two starving kids, and a fridge that looked like a tragedy. I threw together a few leftover ingredients and hoped for the best.

As they started eating, I felt the weight lift. I realized something important:
Good, comforting meals shouldn’t depend on time, money, or guilt.

Ricipes wasn’t born from a business plan—it was born from a parent’s desperation to feed their family simply, quickly, and well. That’s still our purpose today.
